Howdy, Neighbor!

Central WarehouseLast night the Albany County Legislature approved selling the former Central Warehouse for $50,000 to a development team that anticipates investment of more than $100 million to renovate the derelict structure. CW Skyway LLC, which consists of two of the largest developers in the region – Redburn Development Partners and Columbia Development Companies – will be the joint venture leading the redevelopment charge. Cool name, eh?
Why is this newsworthy? The Central Warehouse, Albany most beloved/hated building is so close to the Livingston Avenue Bridge they might as well be part of the same mini-golf hole.
And feast your eyes on this rendering.
Yea, just a rendering. But what’s not to love about this concept of connections and adaptive reuse.
In case you missed it, the Albany County Legislature issued a proclamation of support for the Walkway nearly 10 years ago.
