We are fortunate to be a part of a growing coalition of cycling, pedestrian, and transit advocates here in the Capital Region. Capital Region Complete Streets advocates for safe transportation facilities for all people regardless of their age, socioeconomic status, ability, or mode of transport. This coalition, which morphed of the energy and network developed during the now defunct Madison Avenue Protected Bike Lane Coalition’s efforts, had their first meeting last night to encourage networking, shape policy and advocacy goals, and begin to develop the organization into a successful champion of transportation equity. Support for connecting the region’s trail network and finding a champion for the Patroon Creek Greenway are goals the LABC recommended the Capital Region Complete Streets Coalition take up as priority causes.
